Fix Up Look Sharp!

As you may of heard in previous posts, two of our awesome regulars applied for a community cash award from the Prince’s Trust to work with other local youngsters, they named the project ‘Fix Up Look Sharp’.

This funding came from the Ben Kinsella Trust who are working in partnership to support youngsters aged 14-25 to set up their own project to help promote anti-gun, knife and gang violence messages to their local community. Our young people are running a series of workshops creating planters and other wooden goodies to be donated to Noahs Ark Nursery in Matchborough. They wanted to promote positive activities for young people while raising awareness of the reality of gun and knife crime in the UK and the affect it has on young peoples lives.

Risk assessing ready for the sessions!

Making a few safety related ground rules/listening to music…

Getting stuck into creating some wooden masterpieces.

Ta daah! Wooden structure complete and a visit from the local Community Support Officer.

A lovely wooden throne modelled by volunteer Jordan and one of our youngsters.

Creating planters using power tools and a great deal of trust!

Getting creative with graffiti art, you can see the concentration!

Say cheese for the group photo…

Working out the all important reward points after the sessions.

After all the sessions were over and everyone had earned their points it was time for a reward trip to Full Throttle Go Karting in Stourbridge. As you can see they absolutely loved it!
